Student work
Jacob Anderson
Built his semester arc around Berlin and the rock-concert energy of the show. His final scenic design pitched a thrust stage with raised musician platforms, a flyable main drape, and a projection screen behind the band, aiming to recreate the feeling of a live rock concert.

Week 10 (in-class)
EVA foam V's and I-shapes spread across a 10×10 board at different sizes, planes, and heights, showing the spontaneity of Berlin and the riots. The foam itself is smooth yet porous: even things that seem rough, like Berlin, could be comfortable and smooth when one actually gets close, the same way Stu did.

Process: starting from a concert-stage feel, then arriving at a thrust. -
Closer: aiming to recreate the feeling of a live rock concert.
I really wanted something that felt like a concert stage to reflect the rock genre of the show. With the lights, thrust, effects, and music, I hope this production of Passing Strange can embrace and recreate that feeling of being in a live rock concert.
