About the Show
When her father dies unexpectedly, graphic novelist Alison dives deep into her past to tell the story of her volatile, brilliant father whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Adapted from Alison Bechdel's groundbreaking graphic novel, the musical traces Alison's coming-of-age from youth to college years to adulthood, exploring her relationship with her closeted gay father and his ownership of the Bechdel Funeral Home.
