About the Show
Bob Carlton's Olivier Award-winning jukebox musical is based on the 1956 science-fiction film Forbidden Planet, which itself was loosely based on Shakespeare's The Tempest. A routine survey flight under Captain Tempest is pulled toward the planet D'Illyria, where the crew meets mad scientist Doctor Prospero, marooned with his daughter Miranda since his wife Gloria sent him into space years before. The score is a wall of 1950s and 60s rock and roll classics, with dialogue largely adapted from well-known passages of Shakespeare.

An entertaining romp from its first moment to its last... a definite go-see.
A tasty neon confection... engaging and funny with powerhouse vocals... classic rock blends pretty seamlessly into the Shakespearean chatter, everything from Teenager in Love to Good Vibrations.
