About the Show
Set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High in Chicago, this musical centers on hot-rodding gangster Danny Zuko and sweet new girl Sandy Dumbrowski who had a secret summer romance. Back in the context of school, peer pressure and cliques make their love more complicated. The story tackles social issues as teenage pregnancy and gang violence through hit songs like "Greased Lightnin'" and "We Go Together," recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley.
